Funky Frog Music

The driving force behind Funky Frog Music is professional singer/songwriter, Sally Stapleton.

With a degree in musical performance and composition from Manchester University, she has sung on recordings or in live performances for the likes of Duran Duran, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Petula Clark, ITV, CBeebies and BBC Radio. With her wealth of experience, she knows how to pen a great melody and execute it with the kind of professionalism and verve you typically don’t find in the realms of the children’s music market.

It was through trying and failing to find kids’ music of quality and originality for her young son and her to listen to that she decided to write “Zootopia”. After continually being left disappointed by the CDs she’d bought, she felt strongly that her son and she both deserved something better than the amateur re-hashes of nursery rhymes and children’s favourites on offer. Whilst acknowledging there is a place for these old favourites, Funky Frog’s aim is to give little ears something more sophisticated, without foregoing the simple and catchy melodies children need.

Through talking to other parents we’ve unearthed a need for them also to benefit from something more musically and lyrically interesting, performed well and appealing to their musical tastes too. After all, they are exposed to the same music as their children but are largely left un-catered for.
